The vision for Clover Village Artisan Marketplace is a distinctive shopping destination that brings together consumers and talented artists and craftsmen. Our phase 1 team is working to bring the concept to life.
The south hills of Pittsburgh already enjoys a similar community gem. We are targeting the North Hills region, such as Franklin Park, Wexford, Cranberry with easy access to 79/279. The final location has not been chosen yet and we are scouting sites.
The vision includes small events, festivals, student art shows, and acoustic live music. Featured and spotlighted guests will span a full range of talent, from culinary art students to furniture makers. These events help to draw a variety of consumers to the marketplace, allowing them to appreciate and purchase artisan goods. A refreshing change from online and big-box shopping.
Other cities have also enjoyed adding a "shop local" or maker-themed shopping destination to the region. During recent travels, one of our team members visited the Factory at Franklin in Tennessee. While much larger in scale, the community has embraced the culturally themed marketplace. It is an inspiration! Check it out at www.factoryatfranklin.com
Another team member is familiar with a town favorite in Wilmington, North Carolina. The marketplace is popular with destination shoppers and features over 100 individual artists. Check out Blue Moon Shops and the many "best shopping" awards it has received! The shop provides booths for rental by artists and artisans and has won shopping awards for many consecutive years.
